OUR SUCCESS STORY

 

Our son, Michael, was diagnosed with PDD at age 3.5 years. He is now 8 years old and has lost all of his "autistic behaviors" from being on a gluten-casein free diet, with the help and guidance of one dedicated physician, Dr Paul Hardy.

Since September 2001, Michael has been on the GF/CF diet and has made amazing progress. After just a few months on the diet, Michael began interacting with other peers, became more verbal and focused, engaged in meaningful conversations, showed great improvement with his balance and coordination and had excellent eye contact.

Today, Michael is a "normal" or "typical" child due to the GF/CF diet.

His teachers, therapist and aides were astonished by his significant progress. One teacher has stated, "The Diet is Key".

In May 2002, we attended the DAN! (DEFEAT AUTISM NOW!) conference in Boston. There we learned the alarming rate of statistics of children being labeled on the autism spectrum. Autism has become an epidemic, 1 in 150 children are being diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorders). It was at that time that we decided to become pro-active to help make others aware of the possible causes and treatments of ASD.

If we can help cure our son with this most challenging diet, then we feel we can help and inform other parents with children on the autism spectrum.
